Acrobat est l’un des meilleurs morceaux d’Achtung Baby, un titre sombre, dur, porté par un superbe riff de guitare et des paroles torturées dans lesquelles Bono dévoile ses propres faiblesses et contradictions. U2 n’est jamais aussi bon que lorsqu’il arrive à générer une imagerie par sa musique, et c’est le cas ici en nous entraînant dans une atmosphère de confusion caractéristique, suffocante, presque hallucinatoire.
Devenu légendaire auprès des fans, Acrobat a frustré son monde pendant vingt-cinq ans en étant le seul titre d’Achtung Baby injustement privé d’interprétation en concert. Le groupe corrigera le tir en 2018 en nous offrant l’un des moments les plus inspirés de sa tournée Experience + Innocence, un moment captivant et électrisant, orchestré par le retour vieilli et plus diabolique que jamais de MacPhisto. Même The Edge réussira ses solos. L’attente en valait la peine.
