Bad
Présentation
Bad est un titre hors norme, perçu par beaucoup de fans comme le plus grand morceau du répertoire de U2. Touchant en studio, avec ses guitares et sa basse caractéristiques, ses paroles poignantes et sa montée progressive, c’est néanmoins en concert qu’il gagnera ses titres de noblesse. Sublimé par le live, le morceau nous a offert des moments d’intensité rarement égalés, des versions mythiques s’étalant sans complexe sur plus de dix minutes et des snippets mémorables.
On salue évidemment la prestation de Bad au Live Aid en 1985, que seul le géant Queen parviendra à éclipser, durant laquelle Bono – habité – se révèlera au grand public en sautant de scène pour extirper une fan de la fosse et en enchaînant les snippets mythiques, des Rolling Stones à Lou Reed. On salue également, plus confidentielle, la version jouée au Man Ray en 2000, incluant un sublime extrait de “Ne me quitte pas” et qui vingt ans plus tard nous donne encore la chair de poule.
