Présentation
Si U2 a réussi sa mission reconquête du début des années 2000, il le doit en grande partie à Beautiful Day. C’est l’ultime gros tube de leur carrière, marquant leur retour à la pop/rock et au succès commercial après l’expérience Pop. The Edge ressortit même pour l’occasion sa vieille guitare de Boy. En tant que Français, nous ne pouvons que féliciter les U2 d’avoir choisi l’aéroport Roissy Charles de Gaulle pour venir tourner le clip qui allait signer ce grand retour. La production est léchée, le refrain est ravageur, et le titre est devenu vingt ans plus tard impossible à sortir d’une setlist, le plus souvent pour le meilleur, mais parfois aussi par routine.
